Gg's Cornbread

"This is a wonderfully moist cornbread. I oil a black skillet and preheat it in the oven so the bread will be brown and crisp on the outside. For a little varity you can add cooked sausage, cooked bacon, jallapenos, onion, corn and cheese--all or some and it is wonderful."

ingredients

• 1 cup cornmeal
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 tablespoon sugar
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
• 1⁄4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1 egg
• 2 tablespoons oil

directions

1. Combine all ingredients.
2. Mix will.
3. Bake in greased pan at 350 degrees until brown on the outside.
4. Test for doneness with a toothpick.
