Frosted Maple Cookies

"these seem to taste better to me in the fall when the weather starts to get a little nippy.."

• Yields: 2 dozen

ingredients

• 1 cup brown sugar, packed
• 1 teaspoon maple extract
• 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 large egg, beaten
• 3⁄4 cup butter, softened
• 1 1⁄2 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda

• FROSTING

• 2 cups powdered sugar
• 2 tablespoons milk
• 2 tablespoons butter
• 1 teaspoon maple extract

directions

1. combine brown sugar, maple extract, vanilla, egg and butter together.add flour, baking soda,.dough will be very sticky.
2. drop by tspful on greased cookie sheet.
3. bake for 10-12 minutes at 350*.
4. let rest for 1 minute on sheet before removing to rack --
5. frost when cool with maple frosting.
6. to prepare FROSTING:.
7. combine frosting ingredients until smooth and spread over cooled cookies.
