  1. In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the macaroni from package until tender, but still firm, 7-10 minutes. Drain.
  2. Meanwhile, heat butter. Add ham and cook over medium heat, until ham is lightly browned, about 4 minutes.
  3. Add milk and whisk in dry mustard and packet of cheese sauce mix. Bring to a boil over high heat, whisking constantly until sauce is smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in cooked macaroni, scallions and pepper.
