The original drink made its first appearance in 1946 in Trader Vic’s Book of Food and Drink. I'll bet Vic knew how to throw one heck of a party.
- 1 1⁄2 ounces agave silver tequila
- 1⁄2 ounce creme de cassis
- 1⁄2 ounce lime juice
- ginger beer or ginger ale
- Place everything except ginger ale or beer in an ice-filled shaker. Shake and strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Top with ginger ale or beer and give it a light stir.
