Easy Pureed Pizza Sauce

"I slightly modified the Tomato Puree recipe in the Williams-Sonoma Complete Entertaining Cookbook. It will make enough sauce for 3 large pizzas, so you can save the left overs in a jar. It's so easy and delicious, I'll never buy pre-made sauce again!"

• Ingredients: 5
• Yields: 3 cups sauce
• Serves: 12

ingredients

• 1 (14 ounce) can diced fire-roasted tomatoes
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 3 tablespoons minced garlic
• 2 tablespoons dried oregano
• salt and pepper

directions

1. Combine ingredients in a blender.
2. Blend until pureed.

This was an easy recipe to whip up, especially if you find no pizza sauce in the cabinet! I like the taste, although I haven't made a pizza with it, yet. Looks like it will be enough for about 2 pizzas, so I may freeze the additional sauce. Thanks for sharing a tasty recipe, Larkin. Made for PAC Fall '12.
