This spiced citrus treat was served to me by a sweet, little, old church lady while I was warming up with my college choir to perform a concert at her church. It is soothing, tasty and great for a tired throat.
- 2 cups unsweetened instant tea (lemon)
- 1 3⁄4 cups Tang orange crystals
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon clove
- Mix ingredients and add to a favorite mug of hot water. I prefer 2 teaspoonsful per mug, but I recommend adding to favor your own taste preferences.
The food editor at my newspaper gave me this recipe a few years ago; it's a neat, flavorful treat to have around in the winter months. It stores well - I keep it in the fridge - and is nice to have on hand for guests.
