ingredients

  • 12 cup nonfat milk
  • 14 cup nonfat yogurt (any flavor I use plain or vanilla)
  • 23 cup orange juice (gives good tangy flavor but good without it too)
  • 12 banana, quartered
  • 1 peach, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

directions

  • Throw all ingredients in the blender and mix it up to desired thickness. Add ice cubes if you want it to be thicker.
  • If you don't have a peach, try peach nonfat yogurt in addition to the plain yogurt. Danon Light and Fit brand is great for those watching their figures. (Only 60 calories per serving!).
  • If using fresh fruit, it would probably be best if you added a few ice cubes for a quicker chilling process and a better consistency.

  1. Very YUMMY!!! I substituted vanilla unsweetened almond milk for the milk and omitted the orange juice. I had blueberry yogurt on hand instead of regular yogurt. It really worked out well. My peaches were frozen so I didn't have to use ice cubes. My seven year old loves it, too! ??The two servings are not big so if you like a lot of smoothie, you may want to double the ingredients.

  4. Finally got my DD to try a smoothie with this recipe! Great way to get great nutrition into my kids. I used canned peaches and recipe#99415. We loved the slight taste of oj too. Made this for Fall PAC '08. Thanks for sharing!

  5. Lovely smoothie. I skipped the oj because I have recently tried a very similar recipe and found that I didn't care for the orange juice in it. I upped the yogurt amount and used a whole banana in this. Yumm :D

I have changed my diet drastically in the last few months. I am now eating a lot healthier and my recipes reflect that. I love cookies and ice cream. I always have. Therefore, I am always looking for new healthified recipes for these once-fattening treats. I love vegetables. I generally grill them up for my whole family. I make killer smoothies, muffins, and fun desserts.
