Forget melting three kinds of cheeses and baking it all...this one is the ULTIMATE comfort recipe for an American classic! Little food-fussy children adore this, and adults recovering from an illness find it mighty comforting as their appetite returns. A bit of applesauce on the side, and what a meal!
- 12 ounces elbow macaroni
- 12 ounces Velveeta cheese, cut into chunks
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh nutmeg
- garlic salt
- 1 cup milk
- Boil macaroni in 4-quart saucepan until soft, drain well. While noodles are draining, warn cheese, butter, milk, and seasonings in saucepan. When molten, add the noodles, and mix well.
