  • Place an oven safe dish into a four quart slow cooker. Pour the condensed milk into the dish. Pour hot water around the outside of the dish until it comes 3/4 of the way up the sides. Cover and cook on low 8 hours.

  1. Another method I found on a blog yesterday, don't remember which one. I haven't tried it yet. Place can in crockpot, fill with water until the can is covered. Turn on low for 8 hours. Allow water and can to cool. I suppose one could use a couple of cans at the same time. I wonder if it works. It does eleiminate the scary factor in the regular stove-top method. Janet

I'm a 48 y/o gay Jewish man in the suburbs immediately north of New York City. I'm a general internist, practicing and teaching at a medical college north of NYC. I also earned a Masters in Public Health degree in 2013. After a Walt Disney World trip in Dec 2006 where I had to rent an electric scooter because I couldn't manage the walking, I decided to have gastric bypass surgery, which was done Feb 28, 2007. I lost 160 lbs (though I've gained back about 60 of that since). I can't eat as much as I used to, so I want every bite to be extra good!
