- 5 (16 ounce) cans red beans
- 1 1⁄2 cups barbecue sauce, see recipe for FAT CAT Spicy sauce, but your own is fine
- 1 cup catsup
- 1⁄4 cup molasses
- 1⁄4 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄2 cup beer
- 1⁄2 cup apple cider
- 1 onion, chopped fine
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
directions
- Drain beans.
- In a dutch oven fry bacon till crisp, do not drain grease, and add 2 tbsp olive oil.
- Add onion, and soften (about 5 minutes).
- Add garlic.
- Add drained beans and all other ingredients.
- Simmer 2 hours at least before serving (1 hour covered, 1 hour uncovered).
