  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In one bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In separate bowl, mix butter, brown sugar, and sugar.
  • Add vanilla, egg, and egg yolk to the wet ingredients (butter, brown sugar, sugar mixture). Mix well.
  • Add dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt) to wet mixture.
  • Add chocolate chips, mix until chips are incorporated.
  • By hand, roll pieces of dough into 1 1/4 inch balls then flatten until approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Place on cookie sheet covered by parchment paper.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes. Let them sit for about 10 minutes. The earlier you take them out, the chewier they will be.
