As quick and easy as Hamburger Helper, this delicious pasta dish uses just one pan and will please adults and children alike. I copied the recipe down from a food package a while ago.
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cheddar cheese soup
- 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can beef broth
- 1 1⁄2 cups water
- 1⁄2 cup ketchup
- 2 cups medium pasta shells, uncooked
- Brown ground beef.
- Add other ingredients and heat to a boil.
- Cook over medium heat 10 to 15 minutes or until done, stirring often.
Yummy comfort food and SOOO easy to make! It tasted even better the next day. We used low sodium beef broth and large pasta shells (no medium ones to be found in Safeway), we added a pinch of garlic and onion powder, plus topped the final product with a little bit of light, old cheddar cheese...definitely better than Hamburger Helper. Next time I plan to try fresh onion and garlic sauteed with the beef and see how that tastes. Stay tuned! Thanks, coconutcream, for the great recipe! UPDATE: we've made this a few more times since my original review - sauteing an onion first, before browning the beef is really good. Thanks again for posting this recipe! :)
I thought it was o.k., but I am giving this four stars because my husband loved it! It is also very quick & easy.
We thought this was great. Thanks for sharing.
