  1. Yummy comfort food and SOOO easy to make! It tasted even better the next day. We used low sodium beef broth and large pasta shells (no medium ones to be found in Safeway), we added a pinch of garlic and onion powder, plus topped the final product with a little bit of light, old cheddar cheese...definitely better than Hamburger Helper. Next time I plan to try fresh onion and garlic sauteed with the beef and see how that tastes. Stay tuned! Thanks, coconutcream, for the great recipe! UPDATE: we've made this a few more times since my original review - sauteing an onion first, before browning the beef is really good. Thanks again for posting this recipe! :)

  2. I thought it was o.k., but I am giving this four stars because my husband loved it! It is also very quick & easy.

  4. Holy cow, this is super filling! Pretty good though...I had to use elbow mac b/c I didn't have any shells. Thanks for sharing this.

  5. I took the other reviewers suggestions and added one cup of red peppers chopped. I also used precooked hamburger that I make ahead and had onion powder in it. Other then those two changes, I made the recipe as written. This was really good and easy to make. My children really liked it. My youngest had three helpings. Thanks for a good quick weeknight meal.

<p>I'm a journalism and French major at the University of Georgia who discovered the joy of cooking a couple of years ago. I spend my summer vacations making dinner almost every night for my family, which includes my two younger sisters (11 and 14), and leap at the opportunity to cook every time I go home for a weekend visit...unfortunately, cooking in the dorms is more trouble than it's worth! <br /> <br /><img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/projects/chef3.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com" /><a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"> <br /> <br /><img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/beartag_1_1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting" /> <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/adopted_1_1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting" /> <br /> <br /><img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/projects/pacbanner.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket" /> <br /><img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/projects/200_PACpic.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket" /></a></p>
