  1. Sylvie, Since you are in the UK, is the custard an "egg custard", like in egg custard tarts, or what seems to the "ordinary" custard in the UK, the corn-flour variety like Bird's (and other brand names). I won't make the recipe until I know which it is. I can get both variety here in Washington state USA and don't want to waste $ on the wrong thing.

  2. I have to warn you, DH has a guilty secret: he is a self confessed Tiramisu Snob.. I don't care for the stuff but make it for him, and when it comes to THIS, his favourite dessert, he is REALLY fussy.. he's looking for 300%perfection and he is hard to please. I really thought this would make him smile, but all I got was, "It's ok, I suppose, please keep looking" <gasp> What! it looked devine to me? I don't have ready made custard so made up myself... done THAT dozens of times before so there was nothing wrong there. DH said that it needed a stronger flavour, something more, but didn't eleborate more than that. Please see my rating system, DH awards 3 stars, but heck, what does he know? Do you need a review from a Tiramisu perfectionist? if so, take this one to heart, if not, make it, rate it and make up your own mind :) Thanks !

  3. Sylvie I am one person who just loves Tiramisu. I just did not think this would be as good as everybody stated it would and boy was I wrong! Something so simple came out so good. This I will be making again. Thank you for posting this for us to try. Sorry I had to eat this before I remember to take a picture of it.

  4. Who needs complex tiramisu recipes when this simple one is some of the best tiramisu I've ever had? I made a couple of changes - I couldn't find ladyfingers, so I used marble pound cake instead, I used the Jello custard as well, and doubled the amount of coffee liqueur. I will definitely have to make this again the next time I have company.

  5. WOW!!! This was incredible! The only thing I did different was I made the custard (jello's brand) because I couldn't find any ready made at the store. Easy & delicious, my DS had one for breakfast even! Would be a great company dessert.
