my boyfriend introduced me to this recipe, its the way his mom always makes her mashed potatoes for the holidays. don't be afraid of the carrots, they give great color & flavor & you wont need as much butter or cream cuz they also give a natural sweetness.


  1. boil potatoes & carrots in rosemary & lightly salted water until soft.
  2. drain water & return to hot pot on low heat.
  3. stir for 15 seconds, letting excess water burn off.
  4. add milk, butter & garlic powder & blend using an electric mixer.
  5. salt & pepper to taste.
