Caramel Chex Mix

I love this recipe. It is simple and always a crowd pleaser! Make sure to pick up a brown grocery bag in the checkout line when making this! I most often use rice chex, but I am sure over chex flavors would work well too. I made this for my wedding to give out in bags as favors...It was a hit!

Ingredients:

Serves: 10

Yield: 10.0 Cups

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 dash salt
• 1/4 cup corn syrup
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 9 cups Chex cereal
• 1 cup mixed nuts or 1 cup pecans
• 1 (12 ounce) bag M&M's

Directions:

1. Microwave butter, brown sugar, salt and corn syrup on high for 4 minutes. Add 1/4 t. of baking soda.
2. In brown bag, shake together Chex mix and nuts. Pour hot mixture over cereal and nuts. Microwave in brown bag for 1 and 1/2 minutes on high. Shake mixture and microwave 1 minute more. Pour out and let cool. Once cool, add M&M's.
