Buttery Apples and Cabbage

directions

  • in a pot stir in 1 cup water add cabbage, cover and cook until cabbage is crisp but tender, drain.
  • in a pan add the butter, salt, nutmeg stir until butter is melted.
  • add the apples, cover and stir occasionally until apples are crisp tender.
  • sprinkle with parsley and serve while hot.

  1. Tasty! How can you go wrong with cabbage, apples and butter. The nutmeg is a nice addition, how ever fond the parsley a bit distracting. We like parsley but felt that it took a way from all the other wonderful flavors. Made as written and next will do the same leaving out the parsley. Thanks so much for the post.
     
  2. Made this for ZWT5. Interesting combination. Didn't have the parsley. This went well with meatloaf.
     
  3. This is for Zaar World Tour 5, and I am a member of the Dining Daredevils. I really love this recipe. I think the combination of nutmeg and fresh parsley is what gives this recipe a nice kick. Although I do have to say that because I love apples, it made it that much easier to enjoy this recipe.
