These are my FAVORITE cookie. My grandmother still makes these for me.

  1. cream shortening and brown sugar.
  2. add egg and vanilla.
  3. in seperate bowl sift together flour, soda, and salt.
  4. add to creamed mixture.
  5. add oates, nuts and coconut.
  6. drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
  7. flatten with glass bottom dipped in flour.
  8. bake at 325 for 12 minutes.
