A big hit at family funcions. This dip is great for dipping veggies, a good way to keep the kids happy until mealtime (and anyone else!!)
- 1 1⁄2 cups sour cream
- 1⁄2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 (10 ounce) boxchopped broccoli, thawed and drained
- 1 1⁄8 ounces good seasons ranch dressing mix (I use Hidden Valley)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Mix all ingredients. Chill to blend flavors. Serve with veggie dippers and assorted crackers if desired.
This is the first really 'vegetable'dip I have ever made, so I was interested to see how the family would react to a new sort of taste: it was refreshing, tasty, easy to make and well liked. I have neither Ranch or Hidden Valley dressings available here so looked up some substitute recipes and added fresh garlic and onion (minced) and chives, so I hope that is in keeping with the flavour of this recipe as you intended it. This will be a welcome addition to my festive buffet table, so please see my rating system for a well deserved 4 stars. Thanks !
