Brigham's Fudge Sauce

"According to family lore, this is the hot fudge sauce served at Brigham's Ice Cream shops in the Boston, MA area. I don't know if it is or not, but it sure tastes like it. It's delicious & very easy to make - great for Christmas gifts."

  1. I have made this recipe about 20 times and it is a favorite. It is not anything like Brighams, the texture of Brighams just cannot be duplicated. It was a little more pudding-like for lack of a better term. This recipe is delicious though. I use special dark chocolate.

  2. I made this exactly as directed. Oh wow!!! I grew up in New England and got Brighams Hot Fudge Sundaes A LOT! And while it's been decades since I've had Brighams fudge sauce, this recipe brought back very strong memories. It INDEED reminds me of their fudge sauce...almost EXACTLY!!!

  3. I made this as directed and it never got thick

  4. Excellent!

  5. This a good recipe. I used unsweetened powder instead of squares and the results were still great. Thank you.

I'm always looking for a better recipe, but I cherish the great recipes I've collected over the years and the family & friends that shared them with me. I love sharing recipes and a nice dinner with good food and good wine with good friends. My great aunt went to Fannie Farmer's Cooking School, so that's my standard cookbook, but I must have a hundred of them, including my own scrapbooking cookbook which was a labor of love and a lot of fun.
