Ingredients Nutrition

  • 2 12 cups flour, all purpose
  • 1 12 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 12 cup butter, chilled, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 12 cup shortening, chilled cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 5 tablespoons ice water

Directions

  1. Mix flour, sugar and salt in Kitchenaide mixer.
  2. Add butter and shortening.
  3. Mix until it resembless coarse meal.
  4. Add water and mix until dough begins to clump together.
  5. Add more water if necessary if you find it too dry
  6. Remove dough from mixer.
  7. Divide dough in half.
  8. Flatten each half and wrap in plastic wrap.
  9. Refridgerate at least one hour and up to 3 days.
