This comes from a detox cookbook - it's part of the healing food you eat when you come out of the detox process. If you ask me, I could eat it any day!
- 2 tablespoons rolled oats
- 1⁄2 cup fruit juice (any type)
- 2 tablespoons raisins
- 2 tablespoons yoghurt
- 1 grated apple, with skin
- 2 tablespoons sunflower seeds
- honey, to sweeten if necessary
- Soak oats and raisins overnight in fruit juice.
- In the morning, add yoghurt, raisins, grated apple and sunflower seeds.
- Add honey to sweeten if necessary.
Yikes!!! I REFUSE to believe that this is a "regular" recipe made with simple ingredients... there's gotta be something more to it... something that happens to it overnight! I made this with orange juice, and omitted the sunflower seeds since I didn't have any, but it still tasted divine! And I didn't need any honey either. I'd like to try this with wheat germ instead of the seeds. Is that good idea? Gawsh, thanks for posting this one! It's fabulous! :-)
Oh wow, so simple yet so good! I have been eating healthy and this was SUCH a treat, it tasted like dessert, but for breakfast. The sunflower seeds really melded well with the sweet flavor. Oh btw, I don't like OJ so I used cranberry juice. I have been craving this breakfast since the day I made it.... my official Monday morning treat :D
I made this with orange juice and personally, I was not that fond of it. The orange juice was too overwhelming, and not very tasty over all. It might have been better if I had used milk and put it in the fridge overnight. I think I'll stick with granola.
