"This is from mom's recipe box. A really light alternative to the thick and sweet icings."

• Ingredients: 5
• Serves: 1

ingredients

• 1 egg white
• 3⁄4 cup white sugar
• 1⁄4 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 1⁄4 cup boiling water
• 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla

directions

1. Mix first 3 ingredients and then add the water and beat until it forms peaks.
2. Add vanilla.

I grew up on this icing, its my dad's favorite,we'd leave extra in the bowl for him! was used on most of the birthday cakes and cupcakes in our house!!! A great, quick frosting.
