I made this on a whim tonight because I had all the ingredients and thought it sounded like something good on top of fresh strawberries. I was right - YUM!! I think it would be good on any variety of fruit or a mixture. The recipe from TOH said it could also be used on salad greens.
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1⁄4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon poppy seed
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 3⁄4 teaspoon salt
- Add all ingredients into blender and blend until smooth.
- Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Use as a topping for your favorite fruit or salad greens.
Multiplied the recipe and 0mitted dry mustard and served plated salad with mixed baby greens, sliced strawberry, mandarin orange wedges and 3 rings of sliced red onion. Over 100 people loved it! No leftovers on this one!
