This recipe came from a dear friend who is probably the most awesome cook I've ever known. These are the only baked beans that my husband and daughter will eat.

Ingredients Nutrition

  1. Saute celery and onions in a little margarine until soft and golden. Add beef and cook until it loses it's pink color. Drain well. Add tomato paste, molasses a nd brown sugar. Remove from heat and stir in beans. Put in casserole and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, stirring after 30 minutes. You can also put these in a crock pot for a couple of hours.

This is a great way to change up the ordinary taste of baked beans. We really liked the hamburger in this and thought the seasonings were perfect. I served it with Cajun Salmon and steamed rice. Thanks for sharing. Made for PAC Fall 2011.

Made your recipe as given, & we thoroughly enjoyed these baked beans! Although I make something kind of similar, I did like the addition of the ground beef & the celery! Served 'em warm the first time around, & one thing I do like about these is that their just as good served cold! Thanks for the great recipe! [Made & reviewed in New Kids on the Block recipe tag]
