- 59.14 ml shortening, softened
- 1 egg, beaten
- 118.29 ml milk
- 354.88 ml flour
- 9.85 ml baking powder
- 2.46 ml salt
- 2.46 ml cinnamon
- 1.23 ml nutmeg
- 0.61 ml clove

- 118.29 ml brown sugar
- 9.85 ml cinnamon
- 29.58 ml flour
- 29.58 ml butter, melted
- 236.59 ml apple, filling

3rd layer
- 44.37 ml honey
- 44.37 ml butter, softened
- 177.44 ml walnuts
directions

1st layer:
- Beat sugar and shortenig until creamy; add egg; mix.
- Stir in milk.
- Sift flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves twice.
- Add to milk mixture.
- Spread 1/2 batter into a greased floured 9 inch pan.
- Sprinkle with 2nd layer.
- Cover with remaining batter.
- Scatter 3rd layer.
- Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 to 45 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.
