  • Preheat oven to 375. Lightly grease cookie sheets.
  • Cream together brown sugar and shortening.
  • Beat in egg.
  • Sift together dry ingredients and gradually beat into to mixture. Beat until well blended.
  • Stir in apples by hand. Stir in the nuts, if using them.
  • Drop by tbsps on a greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for about 10- 12 minutes or until just lightly brown at edges.

  1. Interesting in a good way! My daughter loves them. The apple is different and really good. I also did teaspoon size (better for little hands) and got just over 20.
     
  2. I liked this recipe, but I would suggest changing the drop size to teaspoons instead of tablespoons, as they were a bit too big and instead of 20+ I got only like 15
