Angel or Heart Sandwiches

"These are cute little sandwiches are tasty and simple. There is orange marmalade in the cream cheese filling adds a flavorful surprise. Recipe is from Taste of Home. Update 2/6/08: Since "Chef#8688" used the heart-shaped cutter for her sandwiches, I decided to change the name of the recipe. I think the heart-shaped cutters and using some red-colored jam would be great for Valentine's Day or anytime you want to treat someone special."

ingredients

• 2 (170.09 g) package cream cheese, softened
• 59.14 ml orange marmalade
• 16 slice white bread

directions

1. In small mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and marmalade until blended.
2. Using a 2-inch angel-shaped or heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out 16 angels or hearts from bread.
3. Spread half with cream cheese mixture; top with remaining bread.

Yum. I loved this simple little sandwich. I did use raspberry jam instead of the orange marmalade just for person preference but otherwise made as directed. I love cream cheese so I knew this would be great...it didn't dissapoint! Thanks for posting! Made for Please Review My Recipe Tag.

This is a delightful light sandwich suitable for tea or coffee! I made and directed, using a heart shaped cookie cutter as I did not have an angel cutter the correct size for the slice of bread. I can see this using any flavor jam you prefer for the holiday or occasion of choice! For Valentine's Day, use a red raspberry jam or strawberry with the heart shaped cutter!
