This recipe was published in 1983 in The Home-Style Cookbook compiled by patrons and friends of the Linville Hill Methodist School. The pie was submitted by Rachel Smucker and the icing by Mrs. Leon S. Musser. According to Mrs. Musser, there should be one-quarter teaspoon salt, not four. Just want to give credit where credit is due.
