"These are GREAT finger foods that are hard to stop eating. Just a little advanced prep and they are good to go! My husband loves them. This is his cousins newest addition to the family cookbook. Thanks Nic!"

directions

  • Cut bacon into thirds.
  • Place bacon and brown sugar into plastic freezer bag and allow to sit overnight in the fridge.(I massage it a few times to make sure that each piece of bacon gets fully coated.)
  • Wrap each lil smokie with a brown sugar coated piece of bacon and insert toothpick to hold bacon in place.
  • Place each lil smokie on foil lined baking sheet (THIS IS A MUST!), broil on the top rack for 3-5 mins, then flip each lil smokie for another 2-3 minutes more. Make sure bacon is cooked and should start to crisp.
  • Stand back and watch them disappear.

  1. Wow! These were a hit at my christmas party, especially with the kids. And instead of putting the bacon in with the brown sugar and in a bag, once i got the bacon rolled onto the smokies i just covered the top with the brown sugar. Tasted just as good!! 3 People from the CParty asked me the next day for the recipe!!

  2. Yummy! This is always a hit a party and everybody wants the recipe.

  3. Excellent finger food for a party and they go fast! An alternate cooking way for step #4, if your making a ton of them, is to bake them in a preheated oven at 350F (175 degrees C) for 20 minutes or until bacon is done to your liking. These little rascals will stick because of the brown sugar and bacon fat -- so use the foil lined baking sheet as M & M Mama stressed. Note, they keep real warm in a crockpot set to low but the bacon might/will lose crispness over time.. So far, never had that happen since my general complaint is... "are there any more?". Thanks M & M Mama for the post.

I am a busy girl, just like everyone else on this web site. I am trying to be a better cook. My mom didn't cook much since she is a heavy equiptment operator and worked long hours. I am married to my match and he is an engineer and a Volunteer Fire Captain. I have two precious boys, M&M, 4 & 3 Years. I work full time although I would love to be a SAHM. I am involved with the community and that stretches my time even more. I think there should be 36 hours in a day for a mom! Lovin' life and love when my family loves what I make for dinner!
