  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix first 8 ingredients (oats through walnuts) in large mixing bowl. Mix remaining ingredients in separate bowl. Once well mixed, add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix well with spatula. Batter will feel dry, but keep mixing. It will take a few minutes to moisten all of the batter. Press into greased 8 x 8 or 10 x 7 pan (glass preferred). Bake about 25 minutes or until the edges begin to brown. Cool in pan. Cut when cool.

  1. I was looking for the least sweet, lowest sugar breakfast bar possible to give my 7yo for a quick meal before he gets on the school bus. He's a dawdler, so I was looking for the maximum nutrition in the smallest package. These bars fit the bill pretty well. Most granola is candy-sweet. This is much better. The only thing I'd change is to use more cinnamon and to try to figure out a way to get some dry milk powder into it.
