Frozen Banana Cappuccino

"We've been on a real dessert kick lately which is starting to show, so we're finding better ways of doing things. This is a creamy low fat dessert or snack drink. Unlike other recipes I've seen, this one uses frozen brewed coffee, instead of ice cubes, with creamy results. Dr Rosemary Stanton says: Most iced coffee drinks at the coffee shops have up to 33g of fat,67g of sugar and 2280kj in a single serve. That's almost as much fat as a litre of full-cream milk, as much sugar as a 600ml bottle of soft drink and as many kilojoules as almost 24 kilograms of watermelon!!!"

 1. Wow. Yum. I was having a ho-hum afternoon, and now thee is a big smile on my face. This is great! Based on LonghornMama's review I used slightly less milk and made up the difference with cool coffee as I like my coffee strong. I also took one sip and decided it would be pushed over the edge into amazing if I added a few teaspoons of chocolate pudding mix. Yep, I was right...frozen chocolate banana in a cup! I imagine cinnamon and nutmeg would be really nice also. Thanks so much for posting, this is such a guilt free afternoon treat! Made for Veg*n Swap #13, August 2009.

 2. Really liked this. I make very strong coffee, almost sludge, but even so, this was not a strong coffee drink. Cool and creamy, great with a little cinnamon on top. I don't care for milk, so would probably prefer soymilk, just my own preference. Not very sweet, some may want to add a little sugar, honey, splenda, whatever. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

My fiance & I have lived in Melbourne all our lives and we love it, it's so diverse & exciting. We went on a world trip in '04-'05 including the US, UK, France, Italy, Malta, Germany, The Netherlands, Egypt, India & Japan. It was awesome, but great to get home & relax too. :) The link on this page will take you to my YouTube channel which has slide-show videos of my pics, featuring some amazing street art around Melbourne. I think it's rude to leave 1 star ratings! To me it's like eating someones cooking then saying "ERGH!" to their face!! :D So we don't give 1 star ratings. If we really don't like something, then it's no stars & a description of why it didn't live up to our expectations, or we may just remove the recipe from our cookbook & leave it at that. We like cross-promoting recipes in our reviews, to share combinations that work, recipes that inspire & methods people may not have thought of. We can't help but put something of ourselves into each recipe we try
