Snow Cream Paula Deen Style

"I love watching Paula Deen and I love her new show Paula's Party. One day she made snow cream and I love snow cream and only have thought you just make that out of fresh snow but she used shaved ice and sweetned condensed milk and vanilla and I thought.... WOW! I bet that is good.:) So I thought I would share her recipe."

• Serves: 8

ingredients

• 8 cups shaved ice or 8 cups fresh snow
• 1 (14 ounce) sweetened condensed milk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

directions

1. In a large bowl add shaved ice or fresh snow.
2. Pour condensed milk and add vanilla to mixture.
3. Mix well.
4. Serve immediately before ice or snow melts.

Used nice fresh snow after another foot was dumped upon us. Followed the recipe exactly. Thought it came out delish! Sweet vanilla flavor, the consistency was nice and creamy. It melts real fast. Kids enjoyed our Snow Ice Cream! We will make it again!

Sorry, this did not work for me. I made this as written and did not like it. The results were more like extra sweet vanilla milkshake, not the creamy texture of ice cream I was expecting. It was actually too sweet for DH and I, so we couldn't finish it. I used shaved ice which has lots of water. I think powdery, fluffy snow would be ideal for this recipe.

This is delicious! My girls think this tastes like homemade ice cream, which we all love! It doesn't snow in Alabama :(, so we used shaved ice. Thanks for posting!
