I bookmarked this recipe a long time ago and am just now getting down to making them. I am eating one of these delicious cookies as I write. They are lovely, with a rich old fashioned flavour that makes me think of grandmothers, calico aprons, porch swings and lazy hound dogs. They turned out perfect! I sprinkled them with demerara sugar before baking. I will be making these often. Thanks for a great recipe.

My dough was also not firm enought to roll into balls. I just put rounded tablespoons of the dough on the cookie sheet, sprinkled with colored sugar & baked. They were fluffy & tasty! And so far ... the kids like them! I also doubled the recipe, but I am not going to get 8 DOZEN ... then again, when making cookies I don't think I EVER get the cookie count I am supposed to! LoL

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!!
I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch.
We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
