  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix dry cake ingredients in medium mixing bowl.
  • Combine egg, milk, vegetable oil and vanilla in mixer.
  • Gradually add dry cake ingredients until blended.
  • Add boiling water.
  • Pour into 3- 9" round cake pans.
  • Bake 30 minutes or until cake springs back when touched.
  • Beat cream cheese until fluffy.
  • Swirl in dulce de leche and beat until fluffy.
  • Spread between cake layers, adding pecans.

  1. Simi and I were craving chocolate the other night and I had everything needed for this cake. We were somewhat disappointed in the frosting, it needed something but we couldn't figure out what. Overall the cake filled the need for chocolate but the family isn't requesting a repeat. (1)
