Stuffed Dates

I found this recipe looking for Middle Eastern recipes for ZWT6 and realized that as far back as I can remember this was exactly the way my mom and paternal grandmother made stuffed dates for the holidays using our Louisiana pecans. So very good considering its simplicity.

Made for ZWT6 & my bet is it would be very hard to find a recipe easier than this little sweet treat. Like another reviewer, I stuffed the dates w/slivered almonds & suspect I will prefer that over the whole almonds after I have tried both. Being such an easy-fix makes them ideal as a sml treat to accompany coffee or tea for unexpected guests or just to spoil yourself. They are very sweet as written, but that is part of their beauty. You can eat them w/o the powdered sugar to spoil yourself or dress them up for guests (or a holiday table) w/the powdered sugar. I opted to spoil myself, so thx for sharing this recipe w/us.
