Squash Brownies With Chocolate Swirl Topping

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • BROWNIES:.
  • In a large bowl, stir together squash, brown sugar, buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, stir or sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, baking soda, nutmeg, and salt; stir into squash mixture until combined. Stir in nuts. Spread into greased 13x9 inch pan.
  • CHOCOLATE SWIRL TOPPING:.
  • In a small bowl, cream together cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla; stir in chocolate chips. Set aside.
  • Drop topping by heaping 1 tablespoons onto batter. Swirl into batter with knife. Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes or until tester comes out clean. Let cool; cut into desired size.

  1. Flavors were all good, but the chocolate chips didn't melt in the batter. Texture wasn't as nice as it could be with melted chips. Maybe I'll try again and melt the chips first, cool and then add to the cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla.

Her sweets are fantastics, especially her pound cakes, Yummm <br> <br>I guess the dish that I am famous for is my Christmas ham - my family all comes home for Christmas, and if i don't have my ham they are dissapointed, and my grandson wants the pistachio squares!!! so I guess that is the dishes that I'm famous for.
