Slow Cooked Beef Stroganoff

"Throw it all in the slow cooker and forget it, the only cooking you have to do is make your egg noodles and saute the mushrooms half an hour before serving this tasty dish."

  • In a slow cooker, combine the meat, garlic, pepper, bullion cube, soup, onion, onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce and water.
  • Cook on low for 8 hours, or on high for 5-6 hours.
  • Saute mushrooms in a skillet with the butter and add them to the slow cooker 1/2 an hour before serving.
  • Stir in cream cheese and sour cream just before serving.
  • Serve over egg noodles.

  1. I am a stroganoff fan, but have not found anything all 7 of us could agree on...Happy to say this is a winner!! Everyone was happy; my Prince, college grad, 16 yr old, 12, 8, and 4 yr and a teen friend. Definitely a crowd pleaser in our house!! I did saute the onions in butter with garlic, salt, worchestershire and served them on the side for the kids that wrinkled their noses. I also doubled the recipe and have 1 serv leftover for lunch today...YUM!!
     
  2. This was so good. I had never had stroganoff with cream cheese before. I've always just used sour cream so it was a little more rich than what I'm used to but was still good. I didn't have the golden mushroom soup and substituted with a can of cream of mushroom. Thanks so much for sharing. Prepared for My 3 Chef's tag game.
