ingredients
- 1 - 1 1⁄2 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 -3 tablespoon chili powder, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon curry powder (optional)
directions
- Brown beef and drain the grease.
- Add onion and bell pepper and cook til onion is clear.
- Add spices and tomato sauce and cook for a minute til hot through.
- Great leftovers.

Yay! Finally a sloppy joe recipe that doesn't have sugar in the recipe. We like a spicier sloppy joe and this is the one. My husband said it's way better than the packaged stuff and he's right. I used cumin instead of curry (just a matter of preference) and 1 tbsp of chili powder. We had it on hamburger buns with grated cheddar cheese. Yummy!

I love to cook and started cooking about 30 years ago. I love the old recipes, I can't stand the ones that require me to go to exotic markets for the ingredients. Love my crockpot.
