"similar to chocolate chip cookies but in a square. another favorite from my scottish gran. hard to get exact measurements from them..i.e( 2 handfuls of chocolate chips..they cook by feel i guess)"

1 pan of sqaures
ingredients
- 1⁄4 cup margarine
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips (maybe to 2c)
directions
- preheat oven to 350*.
- cream margarine, brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- add vanilla and egg.
- beat well.
- sift flour, baking powder and salt.
- add to cream mixture and stir well until blended.
- stir in chocolate chips.
- spread dough into a 9x9 pan.
- bake 25-30 minutes.
- cut into squares while slightly warm.

This is very tasty. I went with the suggested 2 cups of chocolate chips and found that to be too much choclate chip to cookie. I will make again but reduce the amount next time to personal preference. Made for Spring PAC 2010.
