"similar to chocolate chip cookies but in a square. another favorite from my scottish gran. hard to get exact measurements from them..i.e( 2 handfuls of chocolate chips..they cook by feel i guess)"

directions

  • preheat oven to 350*.
  • cream margarine, brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • add vanilla and egg.
  • beat well.
  • sift flour, baking powder and salt.
  • add to cream mixture and stir well until blended.
  • stir in chocolate chips.
  • spread dough into a 9x9 pan.
  • bake 25-30 minutes.
  • cut into squares while slightly warm.

  1. This is very tasty. I went with the suggested 2 cups of chocolate chips and found that to be too much choclate chip to cookie. I will make again but reduce the amount next time to personal preference. Made for Spring PAC 2010.
