  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cream Crisco and sugar together.
  • Add eggs, chocolate milk mix and food coloring and mix well.
  • Add buttermilk, flour, salt and vanilla; mix well.
  • To a small bowl add vinegar and baking soda.
  • FOLD this into the cake mixture.
  • Pour into a greased and flour pan.
  • Depending on the size of your pan bake for about 30 minutes or until done.
  • To prepare icing: Cream butter, sugar and Crisco.
  • Add one at a time flour, milk and vanilla.
  • Beat for 12 minutes or until fluffy.
