- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
directions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat stir together brown sugar and whipping cream.
- Stir constantly.
- Cook until mixture begins to boil.
- Reduce heat to a simmer.
- Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring often.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in nuts and Vanilla.
- Allow to cool for 1 to 2 hours.
- Top cheesecake or apple pie with sauce.

OH, YUM! This sauce was super easy to make, and so decadent over vanilla ice cream! I could definitely use it on cheesecake and apple pie, but ice cream sounded so good on this warm evening, and we loved it. I toasted my chopped pecans while simmering the sauce. Next time I might add a splash of warmed bourbon! Thank you, it's a keeper! SWT 18
