- 2 rib eye steaks, 3/4 inch thick
- 3 tablespoons butter
- salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 smashed garlic cloves
directions
- Get steaks out of the fridge and let come up to room temperature or for at least 30 minutes.
- Pat dry and season with salt and pepper and garlic powder on both sides.
- Bring skillet up to heat with butter in it until melted and you feel the heat if you hold you hand above it (not touching).
- Place steaks in to sear for about 3 minutes per side.
- After both sides are seared, add butter and the garlic cloves.
- For about 3-5 minutes depending on how done you want your steaks, spoon butter over the steaks as it's cooking, be careful of any pops.
- When done to liking, take out and let rest for 5 minutes.
