  • Combine the first three ingredients and cook in a small pan on medium heat until it thickens.
  • Set it aside to cool.
  • Whip the 3 egg whites well until they are thick and hold a peak.
  • Egg whites whip up faster if you use a copper bowl.
  • Carefuly fold in the cooled cornstarch mixture with the egg whites.
  • Do not over mix.
  • Ready to put the meringue on your pie and place pie in broiler until the meringue and peaks start to brown a little.
  • Watch carefully so as not to burn the meringue.
