- 1⁄2 cup cold water
- 1 tablespoon corn, sryup
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 eggs, seperated
directions
- Combine the first three ingredients and cook in a small pan on medium heat until it thickens.
- Set it aside to cool.
- Whip the 3 egg whites well until they are thick and hold a peak.
- Egg whites whip up faster if you use a copper bowl.
- Carefuly fold in the cooled cornstarch mixture with the egg whites.
- Do not over mix.
- Ready to put the meringue on your pie and place pie in broiler until the meringue and peaks start to brown a little.
- Watch carefully so as not to burn the meringue.
