- 1 1⁄2 lbs ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 (8 -10 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix ground beef, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and 1/2 can tomato sauce.
- Put in pan; set aside.
- In small bowl, mix 1/2 can tomato sauce, mustard, vinegar, and brown sugar.
- Pour over meatloaf.
- Bake 2 hours at 350 degrees.

I also wanted to try a meatloaf recipe that didn’t have breadcrumbs.. And the combination of mustard, vinegar and brown sugar intrigued me somewhat. DH made this for us as I got home last and he didn’t think to smooth it out on the top so presentation is a little rough in my photo.. Sorry about that ! Still, the flavour was interesting and we liked it… I am searching for the perfect meatloaf recipe to suit our family and while this one isn’t it, it is one that I would make again. Please see my rating system, a lovely 4 stars … Thanks!
