My Excellent Green Chili

"This green chili will warm you up on a cold day and warm your palate too.  You can serve it as a warm up dish or as the main course.  Either way, it's sure to please."

  • In a large stock pot, bring chicken broth to a slow boil.
  • Add onion, chicken, chilies, jalapenos, garlic, cilantro and cumin.
  • Cover and let simmer, maintaining boil for at least 1 hour or more.  The longer the better the flavors mix.
  • 20 minutes before serving, uncover, add hominy and stir in gravy mix to thicken.
  • After removing from heat, add sour cream stirring until well blended.
  • Garnish each bowl with fresh tomato and serve.  Yummy!
  • Grilled chicken makes this dish taste even better.
