- 1 lb green beans, washed and trimmed
- 1 -2 tablespoon unsalted butter or 1 -2 tablespoon margarine
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, plus
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1⁄4 - 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon brown sugar (optional)
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
directions
- Steam green beans for 6-8 minutes, or until tender.
- Melt butter in a heavy nonstick skillet over medium heat. Stir in mustard, salt , sugar (if using) and pepper. Add cooked green beans to skillet and toss to coat.
