When I tried to mix the sugar mixture with the juices, the first time I attempted this recipe, the sugar mixture just turned to hard candy. On my second attempt, I boiled the sugar, water, and juices together to form a syrup. Then I added the grenadine and gingerale when the first mixture had cooled. I used ruby red grapefruit juice(my favorite) and an unsweetened orange juice.A friend suggested also using lemonade instead of grapefruit for those who do not like the grapefruit. Thanks for this recipe!
