Mango Lassi

"This cooling drink is popular in India. It can be made with a variety of fruit (or no fruit at all), but always contains yogurt and water. This version also contains cardamom. American versions are often sweeter than their Indian counterparts. We chose to go the less sweet route here. Found on Chowhound."

  1. A nice thick lassi! I did add just a little almond milk to thin out because I used Greek yogurt, which is thicker than regular yogurt. I didn't have ground cardamom, so cracked open a cardamom pod. Because of that, it was a little strong, so suggest using ground cardamom. Overall, very good! Thanks! Made for the Vegetarian Swap May 2011.

I'm a now vegan who used to make one heck of a souvlaki. I love cooking, I was a huge fan of Moosewood and Molly Katzen prior to going vegan (although that has nothing to do with my choosing the name Katzen - that's just what my German Grandma has called me all my life.) Aside from cooking, I also love scuba diving, cycling, politics, and reading.
