  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Crumble the ground turkey into a large skillet over medium heat and season with salt and pepper. When fully browned (5-8 min), transfer to a 13x9 casserole with a slotted spoon.
  • Add vegetable oil to pan, then stir in the onion and garlic, and season with salt and pepper. Continue to saute until the onion is tender and translucent, 3-5 minute.
  • Stir in the baked beans, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chili powder and oregano. Add to turkey in casserole dish and stir well. Sprinkle 3/4 c shredded Cheddar cheese over the meat and beans.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the baking mix, milk, egg substitute and honey. Pour this mixture evenly over the dish.
  • Bake for 40 to 45 minutes in the preheated oven, until the biscuit topping is golden brown. Sprinkle with remaining Cheddar cheese and return to oven for 5 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.

  1. Great recipe. I did omit the chili powder because I'm not much a fan of it and I used only 1Tbsp brown sugar and added a little bbq sauce.. maybe 1/4 c. Nice and easy recipe! thanks!

After a Walt Disney World trip in Dec 2006 where I had to rent an electric scooter because I couldn't manage the walking, I decided to have gastric bypass surgery, which was done Feb 28, 2007. I lost 160 lbs (though I've gained back about 60 of that since). I can't eat as much as I used to, so I want every bite to be extra good!
